This is a collection of resources for researching and editing LGBTQ+ related content, including guidelines, research sources, and templates.

Policies, guidelines, and essays

There are several Wikipedia policies, guidelines, and essays that are particularly relevant when writing about LGBT people and topics.

• WP:LGBTQ+/Advice is an essay with advice on writing about LGBTQ+ topics generally, how to write about transgender and non-binary people, and when to use gay or homosexual as labels.
• WP:BLP is a policy requiring a high degree of care and high-quality sources when writing about living people.
• WP:EGRS is a guideline on how to apply categories that relate to ethnicity, gender, religion, sexuality, or disability.
• MOS:GENDERID is a guideline on how to refer to a person whose gender might be questioned.
• WP:GENDERIDENTITY is an essay answering frequently asked questions about MOS:GENDERID.
• MOS:MULTIPLENAMES is a guideline on when to mention previous names.

Stub templates
Template:Tl	Article pages (below categories)	Tells readers that this article is a stub and invites them to expand it. It also lists the article in the LGBTQ stubs category.
Project templates
Template:Tl	Article talk pages	WikiProject LGBTQ+ banner, to be placed on all LGBTQ+ article talk pages (see here for usage notes) class is optional - see the Assessment page for more information on classifying. Be bold, and assess! If you don't want to assess, you can write {{WikiProject LGBTQ+ studies| class=}} Someone else will do the assessment later.
Template:Tl, Template:Tl	Article talk pages	Templates reminding editors of the policies (in particular MOS:IDENTITY surrounding gendered pronouns, etc., for transgender article subjects, as pronoun-related arguments are commonplace Do not apply this template automatically, MOS:IDENTITY does require we have reliably sourced evidence of the subject's preferences. Neither template might be appropriate for a person who prefers the use of only gender-neutral pronouns for themselves.
Template:Tl	Your user page	Userbox to show that you're a project member, also provides some quick project-related links such as a link to all changes to article talk pages tagged by this project. To use, add {{User WikiProject LGBT studies}} to your user page.
Template:Tl	User talk pages	Welcome box for new participants' talk pages. Use in the form {{subst:LGBTQ+ Welcome}}.
