Template:Short description Template:WikiProject status WikiProject Gastropods is a group of people who are working on creating and improving Wikipedia articles about gastropods, i.e. snails and slugs of every kind: those that live in saltwater, brackish water, freshwater, and on land. The project also covers articles on topics related to gastropods, including anatomical features of snails and slugs, malacologists, or other aspects of gastropod biology. Any editor who is prepared to contribute constructively is welcome to join this endeavour.

Taxonomy

For all marine species, Project Gastropods uses the taxonomy in the online database WoRMS or more recent changes, published in a scientific article. Synonyms are to be given alphabetically such as in WoRMS.

You don't have to be a malacologist to join us; paleontologists, naturalists, scuba divers, underwater photographers, conchologists, archaeologists, biologists, shell-fanciers, beachcombers, museum staff, gourmet seafood cooks, people who just like looking under fallen logs, in ponds or in tidepools, fisheries experts, conservation types, bookworms, and various others are welcome too! In fact, if you're prepared to work, we're prepared to welcome you!

Once you are signed up, please watchlist the project talk page, so you know what's happening with the project in general; sometimes input is needed from all the members on issues that come up. Thanks.

If you wish to be considered part of the Project, your name must be on the list. If you are about to become permanently inactive in this project, please strike your name out or remove it from the list. If you cannot contribute over a significant period of time for any other reason but do intend to return, please note that on this list.
