Guidelines

Infobox information

Annual LLWS articles should use Template:Tl. See the Infobox section on applicable flags as well as standards thereof.

Beginning of annual LLWS articles

The following text will begin each article:

The (year) Little League World Series was held between (start date) and (end date) in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The (winning team) of (winning team's city) defeated (runner-up) of (runner-up's city) in the championship game of the (ordinal number) Little League World Series.

Trivia

Any interesting facts about that year's LLWS must be inserted here. An example would be if a future Major League Baseball player participated.

Qualification

  • The templates Template:Tl and Template:Tl should be used. See the Infobox section on applicable flags as well as standards thereof.
  • The template {{mainarticle|Qualification for the XXXX Little League World Series}} will be placed above any other text. This rule currently applies to all LLWS tournaments played after 2001.

Winners/Championship Bracket

Use Template:Tl for the winners/championship bracket. Enter information as seen on the front page of the LLWS summary located at the website below.

Consolation/Position Bracket

The same bracket as above must be used, and the information entered in the same manner as above.

Miscellaneous

The spellings of Taiwanese municiplaities differ between Wikipedia and the LL website. Consult Category:Cities in Taiwan as a starting point to clear up any spelling discrepancies.


Bracket templates

    • Template:Tl for all Elimination rounds from 2001 onwards.
    • Template:Tl for LLWS Elimination rounds played between 1992 and 2000, as well as the following LLWS qualification tournaments
      • Europe, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, New England, Northwest, Southeast, West
    • Template:Tl for all Winners/Championship Brackets and Consolation/Position Brackets (1947 to 1991), as well as for the Transatlantic LLWS qualification tournaments
    • Template:Tl for the following LLWS qualification tournaments
      • Caribbean, EMEA
    • Template:Tl if there is a tie in the pool play standings which results in more than four semifinalists.

This is the basic syntax you need to get a complete infobox on the article page, just place this before any other text and fill in the variables

Template:Infobox international baseball tournament For the above parameters, here's what you should fill in.

  • Year: The year this particular LLWS was held
  • Start_date: The date pool play began (please wikify)
  • End_date: The date the championship game was played (please wikify)
  • Teams_participated: The number of teams that participated in this LLWS (16 since 2001, 8 from 1948 to 1974 and 1976 to 2000, 4 in 1975, 12 in 1947)
  • Champion: The winner of the championship game, preceded by flag of country
  • Runnerup: The loser of the championship game, preceded by flag of country
    • NB: For US teams, put Template:Flagicon immediately before the state's flag. For Canadian teams, put Template:Flagicon immediately before the province's flag, except in the brackets; only the Canadian flag should be used.

By completing the infobox as follows, you'll get an infobox like the one to the right.

  • Template:Tl followed by a pipe link and the corresponding country name, or ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 code if you prefer. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Flag Template for detailed instructions.
  • The flag will be followed by that team's city, their representative region, and the name of the league. For example, if the team is from Columbus, Georgia and the league is named "Columbus Northern", simply type "Northern".
    • NB: Remember to put breaking spaces in between city, region, and league.
    • NB: A and B are the United States qualifiers, and C and D are the International qualifiers.
