Wiki143:WikiProject Atheism

Template:WikiProject status WikiProject Atheism aims primarily to organize, neutrally develop, and improve the series of articles on atheism in accordance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This page and its sub-pages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there.

Scope

We will strive to improve all Atheism-related articles to Featured Article status, while still retaining a neutral point of view. We will also help prevent religion-based censorship throughout Wikipedia. All editors are welcome to participate, regardless of one's beliefs or disbeliefs. You do not have to identify as an atheist to participate in this WikiProject.

Article-specific tasks

• Improve atheism.
• Improve related articles, like nontheism and agnosticism.
• Improve List of atheists to Featured List quality by adding citations and concise and relevant details to each entry.

Adopt an article

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.

This project welcomes all editors wanting to improve Wikipedia's coverage of atheism-related topics. In particular, this project welcomes both atheists and non-atheists. Because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia rather than a discussion forum, discussions of personal thoughts and beliefs should be avoided.
