Old press photo from the Library of Congress. Source link leads to a catalog entry that seems to be a different photograph [1] and also doesn't match the PD copyright declaration here. PD status is claimed on the basis of it being a New York World-Telegram & Sun photo ([2]), but the Library of Congress entry is marked United Press International photo, which would be copyrighted ([3]). Couldn't locate the catalog entry for the correct photograph. Fut.Perf. 07:43, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

If this ultimately proves to be unfree (which I'm not sure it will), it should be replaced by the image linked to in the source. That would competently serve the same purpose as this image. IronGargoyle (talk) 13:18, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
But that other image isn't free either. The one thing we know is that that image is from United Press. Fut.Perf. 10:09, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Ahh... I guess I misunderstood the nomination then. My mistake. IronGargoyle (talk) 22:29, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
A copy of this photo is at [4], where it says "© AP/WWP Photo". --dave pape (talk) 20:32, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Looks like a publicity photo, the source doesn't seem to say anything about GFDL. I doubt the Malay Wikipedia is as strict as we are with these things. J Milburn (talk) 10:05, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

I have asked user(who uploaded this photo at Malyalam Wikipedia) for assistance on source and licenscing details of the image, please wait till I get some reply from him. --Sayed Mohammad Faiz Haider Rizvi (talk) 06:26, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Seems unlikely that the uploader has the capacity to release this image Stifle (talk) 12:53, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

when did this happen? ViperSnake151 21:28, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

It looks like "stopbadware.org" changed their license, but long after the images were uploaded to Wikipedia back in 2006. See Stopbadware.org from Internet Archive, 2007-12-12, which says "Copyright © 2007 - All content for this site is under Creative Commons License". The license linked to in that Internet Archive version is "Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 Generic". That license allows derivative works. So we're OK using those images; they can't take back the old license, which says
"Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, Licensor hereby grants You a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual (for the duration of the applicable copyright) license to exercise the rights in the Work as stated below:
1. to reproduce the Work, to incorporate the Work into one or more Collective Works, and to reproduce the Work as incorporated in the Collective Works;
2. to create and reproduce Derivative Works".
So we're OK. --John Nagle (talk) 01:42, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Definitely. Plus, the design seems simple enough that a case could be made for PD-ineligible. IronGargoyle (talk) 22:21, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
