Script error: No such module "user". I have been editing for a few years. I am considering requesting admin status and so would like some feedback.

Reviews

  • I think you lack edits in the project space, it would be good for more WP and WT edits! Computerjoe's talk 08:41, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Computerjoe's right on the mark about Wikipedia and Wikipedia Talk edits - if you're considering an RfA, they're very important for demonstrating your knowledge and experience with tasks related to adminship. To improve your involvement in those spaces (particularly the former), I recommend commenting on AfD debates or perhaps joining a WikiProject. Aside from that, you look very competent and committed to the project, and for that you're to be commended. RandyWang (chat me up/fix me up) 15:48, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Elaborating a bit more on the previous comments, people in an RfA want to see that you know what admins do and what you would want to do as an admin. I'd check out not just AfD, which is pretty depressing in large doses, but also the many other places in need of admins. Try out pseudo-admin type acitivites like new pages patrol so you're familiar with the process at Wikipedia:Copyright problems and speedy deletion. Then you'll know what kinds of administrative activities you would want to help with. Joining a WikiProject is good, but really just demonstrates community involvement. — Laura Scudder 15:14, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I introduced the steels template, which has made browsing information about steel easier. I have added many pictures, including a much-improved one of Ward Cunningham just the other day and two for duct tape. I've made many contributions in the areas of mathematics as well as mechanical and software engineering. In particular, I've started many engineering stub pages on topics I know (or knew at the time) little about; many of these have grown since. I have also made countless small typographic fixes and reverted many acts of vandalism. —Ben FrantzDale 23:11, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
  1. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I am still not pleased with virtual inheritance. The person working on it appears to be new and to be catching on. I've tried to give him(?) room to improve it, especially since it was in worse shape when I first found it. I've been involved with some NPOV discussoins, but none got out of hand. —Ben FrantzDale 23:11, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
