This is a very interesting article and a rapidly developing field of study, but I don't have the time right now to expand on it

Comments:

Should Japanese robotics be merged into Robot? Or is it distinctive enough to merit a separate article? (I don't know enough about the subject to give an opinion -- I just thought I should raise the issue.) -Scottwiki 05:30, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Japan is the pioneer in the robotics field and Japanese robotics has a separate history extending back hundreds of years.
