• Good question! Bland would have been a better word. By neutral I mean the new name is just letters and numbers as opposed to real words which can carry different imagery/associations for different people. Not that there's anything wrong with that, and clearly people have different preferences about their usernames in this respect. But I now realise that to make a continuing contribution to Wikipedia I would be more comfortable with a "bland" username rather than the one I chose, and this is the reason for the request.
