White-on-black color scheme

I believe it has no potential to become encyclopedic; it might work as a paragraph in another page about colour schemes, in a category about design for the world wide web, but that page would be more akin to a manual of style than an encyclopedia. As the discussion suggests, there is a near-infinite amount of potential "X-on-y colour scheme" pages out there. - Ashley Pomeroy 15:09, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)

• You could write a proper article on color schemes, and especially this one, forsure. As it stands, someone is going to have to put a lot in this one though. So ok,Keep for now and allow to expand. (there's actually been scientific research done into color schemes AFAIK, so the notability is definately there.) Kim Bruning 18:55, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)
• Delete: Are we going to find out that our old monochrome monitors were best and that command lines are better than GUI's? It's true that something can be said, but I don't think this is a useful title or place for the discussion.   • No, actually at least one research was done using teletext, which is still used today. Command lines and GUIs serve different purposes. And the white on black color scheme is one of the most typical, so definately something can be said about it. (In fact whole volumes), especially if you count green on black and amber on black as variants :-) I'm just BUSY this week, so I hope someone else comes along and does a nice writeup before then, else I'd have to start a new proper article from scratch later. Wrt redirect to monochrome: modern displays using light on dark (in fact light grey on black) often will support 16 million colors, which is very much the opposite of monochrome. Light-on-dark color scheme sounds like a good idea perhaps.Kim Bruning 19:16, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
