Sock burning

Sounds like a hoax. Author claims it is popular, but "can't find Internet references for it". I remain skeptical. Choess 02:25, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

  • Comment. Look up "socks" on any of the major Internet photo album websites and you'll turn up quite a lot of examples of this. It seems to be one of various drunken activities, though. I don't think it's that notable, but I'll refrain from voting. Danny Lilithborne 03:18, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Comment I don't know about the practice mentioned in the article, though oddly there are many hits online due to a sock burning equinox maritime tradition in Annapolis Maryland that has perhaps spread to other maritime groups.[1] Шизомби 03:56, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

  • Delete It's not a hoax, and it's not limited to the inebriated - my friends and I used to take turns in middle school burning the lint off our socks.
