Waco is a city in Jasper County, Missouri, United States. The population was 72 at the 2020 census.[1] It is part of the Joplin, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Waco was laid out in 1875.[2] The city's name most likely is a transfer from Waco, Texas.[3] A post office called Waco has been in operation since 1878. This post office has been closed since the early 2000s.[4]

2010 census
As of the census[6] of 2010, there were 87 people, 34 households, and 24 families living in the city. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert".. There were 34 households, of which 35.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.7% were married couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.4% were non-families. 20.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.08.
The median age in the city was 46.8 years. 26.4% of residents were under the age of 18; 2.2% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 18.3% were from 25 to 44; 36.7% were from 45 to 64; and 16.1% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 56.3% male and 43.7% female.

The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.78.
In the town the population was spread out, with 22.1% under the age of 18, 10.5% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 26.7% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 100.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.0 males.
