Vladimir Alekseevich Ivanow (Template:Langx; November 3, 1886 – June 19, 1970) was a Russian orientalist. He was a scholar of Islam, with a particular focus on Ismailism. He graduated in 1907 and joined the faculty of Oriental Languages of the University of St. Petersburg.[1]
Vladimir Ivanow is a founding father of modern Isma'ili studies[2][3] and one of the most authoritative scholars in the subject.[4] He is a doctoral advisor of Farhad Daftary,[5] the most authoritative scholar of the subject in the modern world.[6][7]
