It is named after and covers the upper side of the Valtournenche, a valley on the left side of the Dora Baltea, from Châtillon to the Matterhorn. Valtournenche municipality includes Breuil-Cervinia, whose ski resort is linked to Zermatt, Switzerland.[1]
