Disambiguation link notification for November 29

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ionizing radiation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Esu (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Merging linear energy transfer with stopping power

I wouldn't support this, although the concepts are fundamentally the same, they are used in quite different ways and in different subfields of physics. But more crossreferencing would certainly be in order. 128.214.7.97 (talk) 08:31, 13 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Moved to Talk:Linear energy transfer#Merger proposal--Yannick (talk) 14:16, 13 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Yannick. I am afraid our discussion about the LET merger gets messy. I just tried to make some improvements in the SP article. For example, I replaced the ICRU Report 60 by 85a. Could you please add the link for Report 85a? HPaul (talk) 22:56, 13 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sure thing! I'd normally explain how I did that, but we have a brand new "visual editor" coming in a few months that will probably change the way we insert and edit citations. Hopefully for the better!
I'd like to mention that I love to see professors editing Wikipedia, and I hope our merger discussion is not discouraging you. We really need experts to help with highly technical articles like LET and SP. Unfortunately many experts have trouble with our culture here, where their credentials do not grant them any extra privileges. I look forward to collaborating with you on the LET/SP issues!--Yannick (talk) 05:02, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Yannick! I can see that professors have trouble since no priviledges are granted to them. I don't, and I think the idea of making all the world's knowledge available to all the world's people is so fantastic that I like to contribute - together with you. (Even though professor, I was corrected by other Wikipedians years ago since I maintained that gammas are non-ionizing).HPaul (talk) 09:36, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Help with Criticality article

Hello Yannick, I see you have done some work on the Criticality Accident article. Could you please have a look at my proposal for a definition of Criticality? Thanks!--Graham Proud (talk) 04:10, 3 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity

Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
