I am a (recently) retired computer programmer analyst application designer. I have created a number of web-pages for "fun" and enjoy the sharing of information. I embrace the idea of Wikipedia and hope to contribute on a regular basis and as time permits.

Lately, I have determined to continue to support the artists and art they create as well as write about and explore (photographically) the topic of American architecture in the early twentieth century.

File:Stop hand nuvola.svg This is your only warning; if you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory content into an article or any other Wikipedia page again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. —DoRD (talk) 14:22, 16 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

BLP

Template:Tps I saw your comment on DORD's talk page. I will try and lend a hand here, while trying to avoid BLP issues myself.

  • WP:BLP applies to all pages, article pages, talk pages, user pages, and user talk pages. If a particular piece of content violates BLP it will be removed from anywhere.
  • The reason for the aggressive enforcement of that policy, is that violations expose wikipedia to massive liability via defamation lawsuits etc.
  • If a random blog, pundit, or shock radio host are willing to assume that risk and give voice to rumors or speculation, that is not necessarily a WP:RS. The more damaging a particular accusation is, the more and more reliable references would be needed to allow that content to be included here. Accusations of criminal behavior (particularly of crimes such as you were posting about, where the effects of such an accusation are massive) require the highest level sources
  • Beyond that, your post was not merely meta-reporting that "A said that B committed the crime of C while on the radio show of D". Your statements were "A is a habitual and self admitted Cer"
    • First of all, this is an incorrect/exaggerated interpretation of his statements. (that exaggeration was done by the unreliable sources you linked to, not yourself
    • Such a statement would never be allowed, anywhere on wikipedia, including your talk page, without a conviction, or discussion in multiple exceptionally reliable sources.

Thank you, however, I DO NOT appreciate being threatened for 1) asking why an edit was removed and 2) making one change and one change only. I sincerely believe the person who made the threat does not have the temperament or patience to act as editor and should have that priveledge promptly revoked. I did NOTHING to rate such a drastic and draconian threat. William J Bean (talk) 10:14, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
