G'day! Welcome to Wikipedia. Here are some useful links in case you haven't already found them:

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page, not that I know much of anything :-P. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you feel like it, you may leave a note at the new user log too.

Tip: you can sign your name with ~~~~

All that, and thanks for mentioning Waldoes on Talk:Autonomous robot. I should have thought of that! :-)

Hi,

I agree with you that NASA should not use miles. After the Mars Climate Orbiter, they were told that they should be more metric but they are still failing to quote metric units on their websites. At least here on Wikipedia, we can ensure that metric is present (on any topic, not just on NASA topics). I would be delighted if you were to add metric equivalents where they are absent. The excellent google converter is simple to use, just type the non-metric value in and press search.

Keep up the good work!

The funny thing is that I just spent quite a while editing the US Postal Service article, with a bunch of measurements in ounces and pounds.

Image copyright problem with Image:Victoria_Crowned_Pigeon.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Victoria_Crowned_Pigeon.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 06:38, 9 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nuclear District Heating

Hi,

I am just curious, where is the nuclear powered district heating system, that you refered to in your recent edit of District heating. To you have a reference on that? --Claus Hindsgaul (talk) 22:25, 26 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your prompt answer on my talk side.

I just remembered that the existence of nuclear DH had been disputed earlier. I failed to notice that examples had been added further down in the article. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Disambiguation link notification

Hi. When you recently edited Diatonic button accordion, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Melodeon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi there.

I feel like we're old friends already. I linked to your userpage after finding that you had beat me to the punch in adding a helpful relevant link to the Alot talk page. I'm still fairly new to the world of wikiing, and I'd never seen a Userbox before I got to your page. Boy did yours impress me. What's more, you've got excellent taste. (To name a few: Doctor Who, Douglas Adams, Biking, Firefly, eBay, C. S. Lewis, Discworld, Tintin, Dilbert, Christianity- not necessarily in that order.) Needless to say, I've begun the process of curating my own Userbox collection, which I'll soon proudly explode across my own page. Thank you for contributing to my wikipediholism. Proposed deletion of Boron neutron capture therapy

It's proposed to be merged into Neutron capture therapy of cancer, which is more complete and is 98% about boron anyway. I'm not sure who started this article in 2006, as the history is corrupt. But I'm notifying you as one of the early "authors." SBHarris 00:12, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Edit summary

Hi, I just reverted your edit to Benjamin Disraeli (you changed "at 2015" to "as of 2015"), and I left the edit summary "can't you read". This was extremely crass and disrespectful of me to write and I hope you will not hold it against me. I hope you are having a pleasant week and generally doing well. Kind regards, —  Cliftonian (talk)  16:35, 16 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello again, I just looked again and saw all you did was add the as of template, while leaving the actual text the same. I feel doubly silly now. Thanks, keep well now —  Cliftonian (talk)  16:41, 16 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for January 23

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tempo, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bright (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Proposed deletion of Digital Monetary Trust

Notice

The article Digital Monetary Trust has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable defunct currency.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the Template:Tlc notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing Template:Tlc will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
