Maps
Thanks. I started the maps ages ago, but noticed that I was accidentally drawing pre-1997 borders and couldn't find any data on the new borders. So just cleaning up after myself. Some of the state articles are pretty short still, they all could do with at least demographics and whether they've adopted Sharia. Morwen - Talk 09:25, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Hello! As you're a Wikipedian interested in African topics, I'm writing to notify you that the Maraba Coffee article is now a 'Featured Article Candidate'. Please feel free to evaluate the article and write your support or opposition at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates. Thanks — SteveRwanda 15:19, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
There is nothing wrong with my edits to this page. You keep deleting salient information, categories, etc. in your blind rvs. Please read the page before vandalising - there is no POV or anything remotely resembling a paid obituary. According to Wikipedia rules, in any event, you are only supposed to correct specific things with which you may have issue, not do wholesale rvs deleting everything (categories, etc.) 70.19.27.186 15:09, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
There is something wrong. You're overwriting an encyclopedic article with an obituary. Feel free to integrate the information you want to add into the article, but keep it encyclopedic. As for deleting external links, the external links you're adding are repeats of links that are already there. Please review Wikipedia's guidelines for writing good articles. Rjhatl 16:05, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
I've reverted your changes again- if you want to discuss this it might be better handled on the article's discussion page. I did incorporate your mention of his awards from GT and the hall of fame. I've never said anything about POV issues, the problem is the tone of the article (especially the last line about "survived by"). Rjhatl 16:17, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:Gcsu-logo.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Gcsu-logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Afro-juju merge
Thanks for your support of the merge; I have now completed merging the articles. I'm also always glad to see people editing Nigeria-related articles--quite a few could use some work. Take a look at some of the articles on politicians, for instance; many are very far out of date, describing people as holding offices that they no longer do. There are also many music articles that could use some work; unfortunately, it's been difficult to find properly reliable sources. There is quite a bit of good information out there on the Web, but most of it is on blogs, podcasts, free websites, and other sources that won't work here. If you have or should encounter a book on the history of Nigerian hip hop, that would be wonderful. Also Newswatch and other Nigerian magazines often have good information that we could use, but I'm living in Mexico now and it would cost a huge amount of money to subscribe to them here.
Thanks again for your contributions, and your support of the Afro-juju merge! Heather (talk) 02:44, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

File:Information.svg Hello Rjhatl! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 0 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the Template:Tl tag. Here is the article:

Contests
User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:36, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
Invite to the African Destubathon
Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing, whether it's a river in Malawi, a Nigerian footballer, or a South African civil rights activist, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. For those of you who signed up to the North African contest, that will hopefully be held in the new year. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:11, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Speedy deletion nomination of Template:WikiProject Equatorial Guinea
A tag has been placed on Template:WikiProject Equatorial Guinea requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Requests for uncreated articles
Greetings & a great weekend to you all. I believe it would be great if the (Requests for uncreated articles) section in our wiki project can be attended to & at least one article be created this weekend as some requests have been pending since 2016. I believe this would be pivotal to the encyclopedia as a whole & a means to get editors who have gone inactive to revive their Wikipedia activities. Sent by Template:Noping. Speedy deletion nomination of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria
A tag has been placed on Transnational Corporation of Nigeria requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
This "article" is perhaps more like a describing the subject. It looks like part of a complex web of PR pieces, possibly mostly written by undisclosed paid throwaway accounts linked to Tony Elumelu. The use of Wikipedia for PR purposes is forbidden. Please delete this article per CSD G11 and WP:NOTFORPROMOTION. Thank you for your time
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
—Unforgettableid (talk) 00:53, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

==Proposed deletion of Jhalobia Recreation Park and Garden==
The article Jhalobia Recreation Park and Garden has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
I tried expanding the article but couldn't find any indepth mention in a secondary source (reliable or not) it is only mentioned as a venue for recreation and events in most articles.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the Template:Tlc notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing Template:Tlc will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. We hereby want to officially welcome new volunteers who have recently joined the collaborative project and have volunteered to work in WP:NIGERIA. The arrival of new volunteers is often associated with the confusion of “what to do” on their part, it is then behoove of us to treat them with care, guide them, and protect them from the general pitfalls a new editor would most usually fall into. We are also admonished to clean up after them if they err and encourage them, most especially when they are genuine editors with potential to do good work not just for us, but for the community as a whole. Once more, we hereby thank all new editors who have volunteered to work here and hope they enjoy their stay here.
