@Vanderwaalforces @Piotrus @Hannes Röst I am sorry to find this devastation: Jan Zarzycki. Becoming a professor comes after a thorough review of achievements. The oeuvre was quoted in the article. A brief description also. The site was likely to be cited in pages on the subject of signal analysis and synthesis. In addition, it showed an interesting silhouette of a man who, with his ideas, has activated a significant community in the scientific society. As far as I can see, the text has been irretrievably lost. A part of wikipedians did not do a thorough analysis of this concise biography and supported its destruction. Template:Rto I presume you refer to this article (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jan Zarzycki). It was poorly written and did not follow Wikipedia's rules, including for WP:V. That article had errors and promotional content that failed verification. It is not lost irretrievebly, but I, for one, am not interestined in investing my time to restore it. Tou can. If you want to do so, you can, at WP:UNDELETE. Good luck, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:05, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Template:Rto I am very aware what becoming a professor entails, I have spent most of my professional career in academia. It is important to note that the notability criteria in Wikipedia is not a judgement on a persons character, achievement or level of review someone has gone through. It is rather a reflection on a) whether there has been sufficient coverage in reliable sources on that person allowing us to write an unbiased article and b) whether there is enough interest for posterity to have a high quality article on that subject. There are many great people who will never have a Wikipedia article due to lack of coverage in secondary sources. --hroest 19:09, 17 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
