Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Matus~enwiki! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Ryan. 12:41, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

Bratislava

Hi Matus and thanks for getting a Wikipedia account! Let's cut straight to the chase: why do you keep adding your(?) photo link to the Bratislava article? It contains too many Google ads, which raises suspicion. Also, Wikipedia gets link spammed all the time -- typically these additions are done by anonymous contributors to increase traffic or their Google page rank by piggybacking on Wikipedia. Other than that - thanks for your interest! Cheers Jbetak 15:32, 1 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi, since i have not heard from you i'm forced to revert your link as spam. sorry. Jbetak 07:22, 4 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Grasalkovic-palace-garden.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Grasalkovic-palace-garden.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 19:32, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Snina-erb.gif)

File:Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading Image:Snina-erb.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
