Thanks
CesarB, thanks for removing EcoRV's vandalism from MarkBrooks. Can you let me know what the deleted text was? No big deal, I'm just curious. I have now added MarkBrooks to my watchlist. BTW, can I have changes on my watchlist emailed to me? I'm still getting the hang of things, as you can probably tell. I've been a fan and user of WP for some time, and am now starting to see that there's a lot going on "under the hood". -- MarkBrooks 04:22, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
- The content was just "{{subst:mediawiki:noarticletext}}", which inserts the message you get when an article does not exist. He was doing that indiscriminately to a lot of user pages.
- As to your second question, as far as I know there's no support on MediaWiki to email anything but password reminders and messages via the "e-mail this user" feature. Can you imagine the volume of email an editor with 2000 articles on his watchlist (an average number I presume) would receive?
- --cesarb 04:44, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
- Probably not as much as the volume of automated mail I receive daily ... anyway, thanks for confirming that the capability doesn't exist, and that I wasn't just missing something. -- MarkBrooks 06:58, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
