I suggest you include your message at Talk:Current events in Oceania rather than putting copies on the talk pages of multiple editors. Query

Hi Jonathan - nice work with the Archbishops of Sydney stuff - but I'm not sure why you removed the contemporary online reference to the Australian dictionary of biography since it is a very contemporary reference. I'm keen to know why. I would have thought a link to a page (which represents modern scholarship) is useful - even if it shows only that the scholars haven't cnhaged their minds or found new information? Doesn't it help with the isse of verification on wiki. Why not keep both? Look forward to your reply. I thought not to replace it before I asked. Cor Unum 09:29, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

John Laurence Rentoul article

Hi Jonathan, thanks for adding the John Laurence Rentoul article. However there seems to be some doubt about the public domain status of the DAB in other parts of the world (inside Australia is OK) - see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Australia/To-do/Australian Dictionary of Biography#Need_for_editing. So it's best to write an article based on the DAB (and preferably the ADB) and avoid copying paragraphs of text from the DAB. I've been re-writing some articles on people from the DAB so they no longer contain chunks of text copied from there. Diverman (talk) 11:08, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes, it would have been easier to do a more direct transfer from the DAB, but I think the articles are better if they include info from the ADB. I've updated the Rentoul article, incorporating inline refs to the ADB, adding sections, more categories and filling in the {{DEFAULTSORT}} template.

If you feel like helping out, there are articles here [[Category:Wikipedia articles incorporating text from the 1949 Dictionary of Australian Biography]] which could do with some re-wording and introduction of material from the ADB and other sources. Thanks in advance :)

About "yayo" language

I've reread the encyclopedia, and found I haven't make error in citing them. But I think it might be "yayoi", a historical period in Japanese history. So I corrected this misspelling.
