With this edit on 23 June 2014 you added some information about Coote's children to the article. The problem is that you added it to a sentence that had a citation for the information already there. This is a problem because it looks as if all the information in the section is sourced when it is not. Please add a reliable source for your additional information. There is a guideline which covers this problem in more detail: see WP:INTEGRITY -- PBS (talk) 08:36, 5 September 2014 (UTC)
- Lundy is not a reliable source (self published), however he often cites reliable sources. So if you are going to use his website you also need to cite his reliable sources see WP:SAYWHEREYOUREADIT. Here is an example: James Hamilton (English army officer) -- PBS (talk) 15:01, 5 September 2014 (UTC)
Stop changing External links sections to see also
the section See also is for sections linking to existing articles within wikipedia, not what you're changing it to. please stop - Happysailor (Talk) 09:52, 23 May 2015 (UTC)
- Apologies, my mistake. The WikiSource links that I am adding should be under 'See Also' but I should not include any other External Links. GreyHead (talk) 10:00, 23 May 2015 (UTC)
- Actually, no. Wikisource links should NOT be under the See also section. Here is the section from the Manual of Style - Happysailor (Talk) 10:05, 23 May 2015 (UTC):
- Template:Quotation
- Now I'm really confused: Template:Quotation GreyHead (talk) 10:07, 23 May 2015 (UTC)
- Seems I should wake up more before using the computer Template:=). That withstanding, you are still putting sections out of order (See also should be before References) and external links should stay where they are. - Happysailor (Talk) 10:11, 23 May 2015 (UTC)
- I think I've got it now, thank you. GreyHead (talk) 10:19, 23 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi, GreyHead. Thanks for working at adding Wikisource to Wikipedia. disambiguation pages are only for existing WP articles though and shouldn't have WS links. I created a WP article rather than delete it, but then realised the WS link is dead. I have created Robert Tait (captain) but without the WS creation and expansion of the WP article, it may well end up deleted. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 11:20, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you and my apologies, part of my learning and some Sunday morning blues. The WikiSource link will be live in a couple of hours, I try to do a page each morning and afternoon and usually I'm careful not to add anything in Wikipedia until it is live. He's not the most interesting of naval officers and deletion may be appropriate. GreyHead (talk) 11:49, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
Your genealogical additions
I'm fascinated by what you've added to the Colvin family. What sources did you use? It might be best to discuss this on its talk page. Carbon Caryatid (talk) 21:49, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Template:Ping Mostly original documents, census, birth, death, etc.; I have a tree on Ancestry.co.uk that includes parts of the Colvin family. Do make any corrections if there are errors there; I have a bit more info on some of the later generations that I will add when I have time. GreyHead (talk) 22:33, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for October 11
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mrs Patrick Campbell, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Thomas Tanner. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
