AfD nomination of Murloc
An editor has nominated Murloc, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Murloc and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. - Tiswas(t) 13:52, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Backronym
Hello, Clement Cherlin. With this edit to Backronym you changed wording to your own preferred version, and altered a hidden comment to make it appear that the version you added and not the version you removed is the consensus version.
Your edit, as well as a handful of similar ones over the past year or two, make it clear that there is no strong consensus to call "backronym" a blend, but neither is there consensus to call it a portmanteau. As you are probably aware, in the absence of consensus usual practice at Wikipedia is to engage in discussion, and if necessary call for third-party opinions before making controversial changes.
I look forward to your participation in such a discussion at Talk:Backronym. Cnilep (talk) 01:24, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

File:Information.svg Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Laurence Kotlikoff may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

What useful contributions do you wish to make? What you say to provide assurance that you will not go off the rails and make a similar post should you find yourself in "high emotion" in the future? 331dot (talk) 10:22, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for responding to my unblock request rather than rejecting it. I appreciate it. You can see the contributions in my user history for the kinds of edits I intend to make: Reverting vandalism, removing peacock language, copyediting, fixing links, adding references.
- I realize now that Wikipedia is not a proper forum for any kind of political activity, and it is inappropriate for any contributor to use it as such. I regret vandalizing the US Senate page and would not do so again if I were in such an emotional state in the future. There are places other than Wikipedia where it is appropriate to express such feelings, and I would do so in those places instead. Clement Cherlin (talk) 14:44, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
- El_C Is there anything in particular that you want to see for an unblock here? Thanks. 331dot (talk) 14:49, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
- 331dot, I'm open to whatever. Mostly, I have little recollection of the incident which prompted the block and any relevant background. Anyway, no immediate objection to an unblock from me. El_C 22:14, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
- 331dot, El_C, thank you. I appreciate the second chance. Clement Cherlin (talk) 15:47, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
