Reapers etc.

Danke for help on the reaper articles. What do you think we should about File:McCormickReaper.jpg which certainly looks like a Deering Reaper not McCormick. Is it worth copying to commons with a more descriptive name and deleting this one? I can find all sorts of pictures of McCormicks. Just loaded File:McCormick Twine Binder 1884.jpg for example. The Hussey pic File:Hussey's Reaping Machine - Project Gutenberg etext 19547.jpg also is a bad scan. I can get a better one, but then the name would be misleading, since the file name now has the source mixed up in it. W Nowicki (talk) 22:51, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

well, File:McCormickReaper.jpg looks in fact like a Deering machine. I think it would be best to find a higher resolution version of the motif (better sourced, too, hopefully) and upload that one to Commons. The small image here could be deleted then.

Thanks for uploading the Google scan of Hussey's reaper. I'm also not sure which one is better. Anyway, on Commons it's ok to keep more than one version of a motif. Both images are linked to each other, so I don't really care which one is used :-) --:bdk: 16:55, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Commons on french wikipedia

Thank you for your contributions of french wikipedia. Just for your personnal information, the model {{Commonscat}} is considered obsolete on french wikipedia as you can see on fr:Catégorie:Modèle obsolète.

If you want to contribute a better way (not that yours is wrong), I suggest you to use the model {{Autres projets}} (Other projects).

This model can create different links in the same box.

For example, you can use :

{{Autres projets|commons= Blablabla |wiktionary=Blablabla}}
