Pronounce "Garand"
If I remember correctly, Hatcher stated this in his work, "Book of the Garand." I do not own a copy of this, but I did verify the accuracy of this a few months back as background for a forum question on this same subject. It's near the beginning of the book, but I don't have the time to search out the information right now.--Asams10 06:24, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- My father said that he wasn't going to pronounce it like Garand wanted either. He's a Korea vet. Said he used the gun, and they called it the gur-AND, and that's the way it's going to stay. I've made an effort to use the correct pronunciation, but I too grew up saying it the common way.--Asams10 15:36, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

Your GA is under review
Hi there, I see that you are a primary contributor to the article M1 Garand rifle. This article has come under review for Good article reassessment as part of GA Sweeps and a number of problems have been identified which are listed on the talk page. Please begin to address these points in the next seven days or the article will be delisted from GA and will have to go through the GAN process all over again to regain its status once improvements have been made.
