Hi, everyone. I'm fairly new to Wikipedia and don't have the time or the knowledge to contribute huge swathes of stuff. However, there are a few topics I know a fair bit about, and will make a few edits on now and then:

• I'm a software engineer by trade, and thus have a working knowledge of the C, C++ and Tcl programming languages, and the Solaris and Linux operating systems. I also have a reasonable knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol family.
• My family have a history of working on the British railways, and I have a fondness for trains.
• I'm a bit of a music fan; I spent the early 90s in a succession of hardcore/punk/alternative rock bands, so know a bit about Gibson solid-body electric guitars and vintage valve amps, as well as various bands and albums.
