ECAC is Electronic Communication Across the Community. How would you describe ECAC? This is a great forum to explore what you value about ECAC and what you plan on taking home to your students and colleagues.

I use ECAC to motivate myself to explore and learn new things. it gets my blood pumping!

I think that ECAC is a terrific opportunity to learn from instructors, as well as from each other , what technology is available and how to use it in our classrooms. It is a time to practice and perfect what we already know and to learn new things. This is my second time at ECAC. The first time I brought home "big" ideas--I learned the basics of i-movie, powerpoint, and web page design. This time I am bringing home lots of "small" ideas that will help me improve what I am already doing with technology.

ECAC is a good resource for sharing information in any academic arena. The chance to colaberate with individuals with varying academic roles from just a few communities is very valuable as we explore different web communication tools.

ECAC is an additional way for students to communicate (using Moodle for example) in a somewhat controlled setting. I like the fact that you can control your membership.

ECAC is extremely usable information which I hope to share with my fellow teachers at home, especially sites like Wikipedia.

ECAC should be also about paying attention to student literacies. Which of the ones we observe while the students are working around us should we be encouraging in our own classrooms?

I plan on taking home several things:

1. A new way of interacting with my students through a web process like Moodle.

2. Hopefully I will install Moodle on OS X back home and become a Moodle site.

3. In a more tangible way, I want to create an emergency web page to go on our school website.

What has been most valuable to me about ECAC is the way I have been able put things together. I came here with a good working knowledge of individual pieces (HTML, etc.) but this is the first time I have had the chance to view them as a process as a whole.

ECAC is very challenging and time demanding. For the novice, it moves too fast. The information is very useful, my colleagues will most likely need training and lots of time to become 'novice' at the info presented this week.

I have had so many experiences since arriving, that the words that come to mind are; excited, overwhelmed, stimulated, supported, inquisitve, intrigued and challenged.
