Elch is the screenname of the IRC user behind the popular bitchchecker story. Originally posted on the StopHipHop.de forums on April 6, 2005, the bitchchecker story is a series of IRC logs documenting a discussion between Elch and another user with the screenname of bitchchecker. Originally in German, the logs have been translated to many languages, including English, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch.

Taking place over a timeframe of several hours, the discussion occured on the IRC server irc.euirc.net, in the German-language room #stophiphop.
