Gombak LRT station (previously known as the Terminal PUTRA) is a light rapid transit (LRT) station in the Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. It is the northern terminus of the LRT Kelana Jaya Line.
There is a ticket counter for buses to Genting Highlands, with buses departing to the Genting Skyway station every half-hour.[1] These buses are operated by Resorts World Berhad. This station is normally utilised by residents of Kuala Lumpur, especially those living around Setapak area when they are going to Genting.
The Gombak toll plaza, the beginning of the Script error: No such module "Jct"., is one kilometre north from this station.
Currently, this station is the northernmost station in the Rapid KL transport network. It is integrated with the Terminal Bersepadu Gombak (TBG) and connected to the future East Coast Rail Link (ECRL). [2][3]
Plans
Under the Ninth Malaysia Plan, a transportation hub known as the Gombak Integrated Transportation Terminal (GITT, now Terminal Bersepadu Gombak) was planned to cater for express buses coming in from the east coast of Malaysia, similar to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), an integrated hub in Bandar Tasik Selatan.[4] As of 2022, construction has started and will also provide the LRT station with a connection to the future East Coast Rail Link (ECRL).[5][6][7]
Terminal Bersepadu Gombak
Terminal Bersepadu Gombak (TBG, lit.: Gombak Integrated Terminal) is a large long-distance bus terminal in Gombak at near the Selangor-Kuala Lumpur border. It is connected to the adjacent Gombak LRT station via a covered pedestrian walkway. TBG is one of the three planned Integrated Transport Terminal (ITT) in Kuala Lumpur (Bandar Tasik Selatan ITT, Gombak ITT and Sungai Buloh ITT), and it is the second ITT to start operate.[8] TBG was intended to serve as an express bus terminal serving buses bound for the East Coast region.
