Metric

The box is intended to fit under the "Atlantic hurricane seasons" boxes that appear on the various hurricane season articles=. Widening it breaks the reasonable degree of size matching it did before. -- Cyrius|✎ 15:52, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Colors

Template Name

Why is it called Saffir-Simpson-US? The SSS is the SSS no matter what country you're in. Jdorje 01:02, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

So where is the non-US version? Template:Tl would be my guess but it's not there, nor is it referenced anywhere. And how would one go about choosing which to use? Seems to me this is a bad separation. Any article may be read by both US and non-US people, so the distinction cannot be made even on an article-by-article basis. It's at Template:Tl - but I agree with you, it's difficult or impossible to judge which units should be listed first. One might as well just use the SI-first version. --AySz88^-^ 04:38, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

Small version?

I think there should be a small compact version for use as a quick reference or a key. See User:AySz88/Sandbox for the code, which currently also has a button bar that shows one possible application. Template:Saffir-Simpson small AySz88^-^ 04:01, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

I like it. It should also be used in the Category:Tropical cyclones by strength subcategories. It should be Template:Tl. And it shouldn't use any of the button templates internally. Jdorje 04:17, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

• Template:Reply I know it's been 7 years since this Talk post, but I want to clarify the question. I believe the question is "why is it descending (up-down) from 5 to 1, instead of ascending 1 to 5?" and I think it should be ascending instead. I also suggest centering the numbers.
