This template generates an ordinal date. Used alone as {{Ordinal date}} it will generate the ordinal date for the current year-month-day. Check the result at tycho.usno.navy.mil after Script error: No such module "Purge". this page.

This template may also be used to generate the ordinal date for any Gregorian calendar dates by passing the proper syntax to the following variables:
year: Any integer, as well as numeric formulas, calculations work for years in the common era and in the pre-Christian era starting at year -4800 (4801 BC).
month: A positive integer from 1 through 12. Leading zeros are allowed, as well as numeric formulas.
day: A positive integer from 1 to 31. Leading zeros are allowed, as well as numeric formulas.
Examples for 15 March 2007 and 15 March 2008 (leap year):
{{Ordinal date|year=2007|month=03|day=15}} = 74
{{Ordinal date|year=2008|month=03|day=15}} = 75
