Taylor is located in southwestern Columbia County.

Education
Public education for early childhood, elementary and secondary school students is provided by the Emerson–Taylor-Bradley School District (formerly the Emerson–Taylor School District), which includes Taylor Elementary School and Taylor High School. The district was established on July 1, 2004, by the consolidation of the Emerson School District and the Taylor School District.[3]

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 566 people, 220 households, and 166 families residing in the city. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert".. There were 220 households, out of which 30.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.0% were married couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.1% were non-families. 22.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 2.78.
