Template:Edit semi-protected Suggested citation for first paragraph of Tournaments and leagues (Modern play):

Malaysia XiangQi Association. "Welcome to Malaysia XiangQi Association (Persatuan Xiang Qi Malaysia) Official Website". https://en.xiangqi.org.my/. Retrieved 31 December 2024.

"Although xiangqi has its origin in Asia, there are xiangqi leagues and clubs all over the world. Each European nation generally has its own governing league; for example, in Britain, xiangqi is regulated by the United Kingdom Chinese Chess Association. Asian countries also have nationwide leagues, such as the Malaysia Chinese Chess Association.[citation needed]" Jmoore9393 (talk) 14:20, 31 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Official piece names?

The page uses the terms General and Soldier as section headers, but according to the WXF website, these pieces are called King and Pawn officially in English. While the translations are subjective and there are numerous names people have ascribed to these pieces, I would consider the WXF names the closest to their "official" naming and probably best for use on the section headers and across the article.
