The correct name is Nike not Victory.

Why was the "modern copies and derivative works" section removed?

I wholly disagree with the opinion "If this section can't stand on its own merit as a separate article then it has no business being in this article." The title does not specify the original statue. The derivative works constitute works that match the page title and subject matter.

I disagree that this section is pop culture. A copy of a famous statue does not constitute "pop culture", even though some instances of derivative works may be modern.

The indiscriminate tag does not apply.

The section does include a list. The title of the page indicates a statue, and does not specify the statue need be the original. The copies in and of themselves are famous, and equally titled "Winged Victory of Samothrace (et al)".

I would put forth that user Twospoonfuls should have started a talk/rfc prior to removing the "modern copies and derivative works" section, rather than removing the section and requesting others to take the suggested action. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:B4E0:67C0:8127:4EF0:EAA1:7012 (talk) 18:38, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
