I know the word "Britain' is banned at Wikipedia, but when the American Revolution broke out, the United Kingdom didn't exist yet. You'll just have to come up with something. Wetman 20:23, 24 Jan 2004 (UTC)

oh... that was an honest mistake, sorry... the biography said "had to decide between the Kingdom and the new US" or something to that effect, so I assumed it meant the United Kingdom... I'll change it. ugen64 14:59, Jan 26, 2004 (UTC)

So would Chief Justice Cushing be an incorrect title?? If so they should change the name of the highway.

Big error

In the statement:

"However, when the American Revolution started, he had to choose between the rebels and Great Britain; unlike the rest of the court, he chose the U.S."

he could not have chosen the U.S. as the U.S. did not exist until the Constitution (of 1787) was ratified. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.59.67.68 (talk) 22:15, 16 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

Should Cushing be considered a chief justice?
