Market town

I didn't realise Walsingham had a market. When is it held?. -- Chris j wood 17:19, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've done some googling, and the majority of references are to Walsingham as a village, not a town. For example the parish clerk, in maintining the parish council's website (as referenced on page), seems to be in no doubt that he is the clerk of a village, not a town. There is no evidence of a charter, or of the parish council claiming town council status. It seems the place did have a market, but no evidence this still survives. Amending article accordingly. -- Chris j wood 14:08, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

In the centre of Little Walsingham is the 'Friday Market Place', so I assume at some point in history it had a weekly market, on a Friday. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.239.159.6 (talk) 10:05, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
