Editor bias

The following is an editorial opinion of the current stations management by the contributor and does not have any bearing on the chronological time as being the longest running aor program format in radio EXCERPT "The station plays a rock format, and pioneered the concept of "album-oriented rock" or AOR. Editor bias

Under "Launch of WEBN", the last paragraph reads "Her (Robin Wood's) sultry voice delivering irreverent thinking persons humor is sorely missed relative to the standard morning adolescent 'booger humor' that is a fixture in many stations today."

This clearly carries a bias slant to the editor's taste in humor. I remember Robin Wood, but whether she is missed or not is also a matter of opinion...and that the current audience even remembers who she is. Yobbo14 15:10, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Robin Wood

I attended University of Cincinnati from 1978 to 1984, and WEBN was my fraternity's radio station of choice. After college, I moved far enough away to not be able to pick up WEBN. After all of these years, I still remember Robin Wood. I think the removal of the sentence regarding Robin's sultry voice due to "Editor's bias" should be reconsidered, possible rewritten to reflect that it is the opinion of some. Station Slogan

The station slogan "Shut up and Rock" was retired a number of years ago. The current and long running slogan is still "The Lunatic Fringe of American FM". The Wikipedia page already lists this in the Early Advertising paragraph. That is accurate, the other slogan is not. Just to be transparent about any conflict of interest, I am the Program Director of WEBN-FM. Usernamechris (talk) 18:05, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Conflicting/confusing info re: WEBN-HD22

The initial paragraph states

"WEBN-HD2 simulcasts over local translators W264BW Norwood (100.7 FM) and W292CO Middletown (106.3 FM),"

but the section titled "HD2: The Project 100.7/106.3" states

"On August 16, 2012, translators W264BW Norwood (100.7 FM) and W292DT Mt. Auburn (106.3 FM) began simulcasting the alternative rock format on WEBN-HD2 as "The Project 100.7 / 106.3". As of January 2014, W292DT identifies as W238BJ and broadcasts at 95.5 FM; WEBN-HD2 itself continues to simulcast over 106.3 FM, now via translator W292CO Middletown."

I interpret the second quoted section to mean that perhaps The Project is no longer on the same two frequencies? Meaning it is now 95.5FM and 106.3FM which conflicts with the first graf.

If this is not the case, it is not clear to me as a reader which two frequencies WEBN-2 The Project is using as of January 2014. GBrady (talk) 14:54, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
