Numbers and data missing for University of London
- Some administrators and editors are deliberately deleting and missing out numbers of collegiate federal University of London. Let me put this in perspective, UOL is 17 member institutions (former constituent colleges) [that gave UOL degrees from 1836 to 2008] and three central academic bodies. University of Oxford is made up of thirty-nine semi-autonomous constituent colleges, six permanent private halls, and a range of academic departments and University of Cambridge is made up of 31 semi-autonomous constituent colleges and over 150 academic departments, faculties and other institutions organised into six schools.
- How is it that total internal students (with external students) missing? Even old data (upton 1 or 2 yrs old is fine) as long as the article has source and approved external link to verify the information. The negative bias against UOL is pathetic.

The number of students in manifestly wrong by focusing only on the distance learning programs. The number should reflect the University as a whole, both internal and external students. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.79.50.38 (talk) 00:37, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
- Regarding parameters "students" "undergrad" "postgrad" in infobox, the Template:HESA student population is not working, so nothing is displayed and it seems like there's a blank in the statistics provided. I tried to fix it by using Template:Sum below to total up all of the 17 college's individual populations (as UoL as a whole does not have an INSTID), but it adds to around a few thousand which is grossly below what should be the correct number.
- This is pretty important and if anyone can figure out how to resolve this, please help! Otherwise, we'll have to manually enter population numbers into the infobox. Weslam (talk • contrib) 10:25, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

Semi-protected edit request on 14 October 2021: update to Student Life section
Template:Edit semi-protected Crucial update to Student life section, please add the below:
"Since 2020, ULU Student Central has been voted to dissolution by the Collegiate Council [internal source, primary source via email with Student Experience Manager]. All ULU clubs & societies, including the ULU Lifeguarding Society have since been shut down.
In August 2020, the Debate Society by the University of London students (DSUL) [source: bit.ly/3lF1z7G], an initiative by EMFSS students of the LSE at the University of London Worldwide in replacement of the ULU Student Central Clubs & Societies, was founded. The club operates entirely online-based, as an effort to unite the international student body of the distance learning programmes by the University of London Worldwide and London-based students from small and medium colleges.
DSUL is an independent, not-for-profit, student-run organization, aims to train students in debating, to enrich student life in extracurricular experience with a variety of soft skills in critical thinking, public speaking and equipped with working knowledge of the world. The Debate Society is currently in the formalization process with the University and have received provisional status of recognition [source: https://www.instagram.com/debate_uolstudents/]." 2402:800:63DD:1914:986B:26A:24D8:99E2 (talk) 21:31, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

The which(s) brew
Catching a lot which(s) in this article and around other scholastic articles. It's an imprecise word-choice and often left neglected in updates, leaving the articles to suffer needlessly. Would anyone mind if I activated a which(s) template on UoL? If I have time, I can do all the which(s) at once. 2601:646:A200:E5B0:2AAE:1679:4E0C:C386 (talk) 02:47, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
- I don't see a problem with the "which"es in this article, so I think they should be left alone. TSventon (talk) 11:51, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
- Candidly, I see them being updated in other articles because of which(s) imprecision. No here though? I might try an Americana article and bring the results back for discussion. 2601:646:A200:E5B0:5F14:E293:FDA1:EBD4 (talk) 12:53, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
- Agree with TSventon. The word "which" is certainly not "imprecise" (please explain what on earth that's supposed to mean). There are currently 32 occurrences of the word in this article, the great majority of which are appropriately used (and two of which appear in quotations, so certainly shouldn't be tampered with). The only clear case of misuse I see is in Note i ("Imperial College left UoL in 2007 and after which is now issuing its own degree in its name"), which should be corrected. I assume the IP's preference is to replace "which" as a relative pronoun with "that" (see English relative clauses#That or which for non-human antecedents), but this point is debatable, and is more American then British style (this article is obviously in British English). There are a handful of places where the wording could be tweaked without serious damage, but it's certainly not a major issue. GrindtXX (talk) 13:21, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
- American indeed. I'll make this change referenced above. Collaboration at its finest. Probably other improvements to sentence structure that could demur the which(s) still. 2601:646:A200:E5B0:5F14:E293:FDA1:EBD4 (talk) 13:58, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
