King of England Smoking Tobacco
There is a clip concerning one of the earlier versions of the bill including the King of England smoking tobacco and an eagle on the reverse of the bill. This looks like vandalism but I can't verify that it is. Can anyone help here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.170.181.199 (talk) 13:11, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- It's not vandalism, it's actually supported by the source. It's describing this version of the $2 bill. - ZLEA T\C 14:42, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Please fix this silly-sounding contradiction
"Printing $2 bills is half as expensive for the government as printing $1 notes, since they both cost the same amount (6.2 cents per bill) to manufacture".
Er, so "Thing A costs half as much as thing B because they both cost the same."
You want to re-think whatever point you're making there by talking about the value or payload that a bill constitutes for the government. It's the return on investment that you have to compare, not the "cost of printing bills". 2601:600:A480:4C20:405D:30E4:3759:5267 (talk) 21:21, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- The claim that the $2 bill is half as expensive is not directly supported by the source, so it can probably be removed as WP:OR. - ZLEA T\C 01:08, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- I have deleted the entire paragraph as it contains many false, misleading, or unsupported statements like this. They were loosely attached to the source but contained many errors such as "strip clubs" (not mentioned in the source), "hoarding" (source refers to collector's item, not hoarding), "many people believe" the reverse design was for the Bicentennial (unsupported by source, source actually appears to contradict), etc. 73.182.210.38 (talk) 00:14, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
A reminder to all who may concern about series dates
I am adding this section preemptively because there have been some problems on all the higher up denominations about people adding a series 2025 to the article based on information about Brandon Beech taking office as Treasurer. To remind everyone, we do NOT go by when the Treasurer/secretary takes office. We go by when the bill is printed and put into circulation. There is a website with public records of print figures, it is on bep.gov, as soon as records appear of a 2025 series, we can add it to the table.
