Citation on presence of mine "fields" between perimeter fence and building?

In a documentary featuring an ex-employee who started working at the bullion depository around the 1970s, he said much of the security is myth and there are no mine fields. Is there any citation to back that up? I don't see it. Psx1337 (talk) 14:40, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

It's in the reference in the main body, in the section titled "Construction and security". The reference is an article in Coin Week written by former United States Mint Director Philip N. Diehl. ---- Work permit (talk) 23:12, 29 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

In popular culture

Adding an additional reference for archiving. Fort Knox was mentioned in GI Joe season 1 episode 23. "G.I. Joe" Battle for the Train of Gold (TV Episode 1985) - IMDb

Not adding to the article. Maybe if someone is looking for a more comprehensive list, this can be a part of it. 76.147.76.10 (talk) 15:49, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

possible typo

"The 1934 London Good Delivery List"

should "Good" be "Gold"...?

Thanks for reporting, but in this case, it's not a typo. See Good Delivery. Stefen 𝕋owers among the rest! Gab • Gruntwerk 00:39, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Protection?

I've seen a number of edits back and forth with people setting the value of he gold in the vault to 0. With Musk's comments about wanting to audit the depository, this could become a target for vandalism. 73.132.242.137 (talk) 23:11, 17 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Musk & Trump's discussion of this in 2025 (along with ensuing paranoia on the interwebs) absolutely deserves note in the article. There are tons of articles about this now & I for one specifically came to see if the 'inspection' had actually occurred yet. — LlywelynII 20:45, 11 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Noting here that I've added a reference to the lede to support the measurement of troy ounces. the original ref listed ounces, and the other data (weight of a gold bar) was consistent with troy ounces, but as that would be WP:SYNTH I obtained a source that explicitly called out the USBD's stock in troy ounces, which does match the original ref. Feel free to revert, or remove one of the refs, if this was not necessary. EducatedRedneck (talk) 14:45, 12 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
