Is this a Michigan and an Ohio lighthouse?
If the article is right about the boundary dispute and its resolution, should this also be listed as a Lighthouse of Michigan? 7&6=thirteen (talk) 19:41, 5 October 2009 (UTC) Stan
- It technically isn't. I checked on Google Maps; 90% of the modern island is in Ohio, probably including the lighthouse. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.179.218.10 (talk) 08:05, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Jurisdiction
Every article I've ever seen that mentions the Supreme Court ruling on the jurisdiction is that the island lays entirely within Ohio. This is important since Michigan had always claimed at least half the island or rather that a line went through the center of the island at a particular angle. This page appears to try and confuse the definitive ruling? Criticalthinker (talk) 00:37, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
I think you are on to something! I realized something was wrong when I read this article which says the opposite of the current article that it was not split, and also google maps is showing an incorrect border according to that article. The article seems suggest the Supreme court went with a split border.I will tag the article until this can be resolved. Michigan had wanted the whole island. I am not sure about all the details, but overall for anyone digging into this there plenty of conflicting statements out there. - Ah, nevermind my last message. I see this was resolved with citations and other edits; the clarification was badly needed, because the opening paragrah was not clear in the least. Thanks. --Criticalthinker (talk) 05:59, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
New images and a current image
Hello, I have uploaded two new images of Turtle Island that show the Island in a more modern state (2021) from two angles. They are File:Turtle Island from the east (2021).jpg and File:Turtle Island from the west (2021).jpg. If anyone has suggestions of if and how these images can be productively added to the page, or just wants to do so themselves, please do so!
Additionally, I thought that File:Turtle Island Lighthouse - 2016.jpg could be moved to Turtle Island Light, which is a page dedicated to the lighthouse itself. If anyone has thoughts on if that shouldn't be done or if it should I think it could be constructive. Strubber (talk) 19:10, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
