Tu-134UBL

i thought the UBL was developed to train Tu-22M crew, and it has the nose of a Tu-22M, not a Tu-160. It has the distinctive upswept nose for the radar and everything. In Variants it says it has the nose of a Tu-160, and a different version was for training Tu-22M crew. Are you sure that's not backwards? It's possible the UBL has the avionics of the Tu-160, but it's clearly not the nose of a 160, you can see it by looking at photos of the two. The 160 has a different shaped nose cone. 2600:1000:B16D:D9A5:0:60:40C7:E101 (talk) 02:06, 8 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

The Russian Wikipedia has an article on the Tu-134UBL, a machine translation: Trainer for training pilots Tu-22M and Tu-160. The aircraft is distinguished by a special design of the nose of the fuselage, similar to the Tu-22M and Tu-160 bombers. One Tu-134UBL was converted into Tu-134UBK and several more in Ту-134УБКМthe Tu-134UBKM. Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 07:21, 8 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
