merger

should be merged with Tupi. — ishwar  (SPEAK) 12:00, 2005 May 20 (UTC)

There is a Tupi language family which consists of approximately 70 languages, one of which is Tupi. The family and the individual language should have separate articles, I think. To be consistent with other articles, they should be located at Tupi languages and Tupi language, respectively. --Tabor 19:13, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

ok. i saw that one, too. merged. the categories could be improved as well. peace – ishwar  (speak) 17:46, 2005 August 9 (UTC)

Don't know if this helps, but as a 'worshipper' of the Tupi since the game Colonization, i found http://www.capixabismo.com.br/ and its Tupi dictionary very interesting. N.B. I am no way an authority on this subject.

Maweti-Guarani

I added a reference with evidence in favor of a Mawe-Aweti-Tupi-Guarani sub-branch and changed the list of sub-branches accordingly. 179.235.214.89 (talk) 16:09, 2 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Mawé

The Mawé sections of the Vocabulary table are incorrect and need the following corrections. I have included the original Mawé sections from the tables followed by the corrections providing both the impersonal and personal forms in the first person singular. Sateré-Mawé is an incredibly beautiful language which I am fluent in and have worked with since 1996. Our Sateré friends deserve better than to be misrepresented. I have not corrected the tables myself because the Vocabulary in the tables is derived from an academic source. The other languages represented in the tables should also be checked in order for each language to be represented correctly giving value to all ethnic groups and their beautiful languages!
