Perković's response to accusations

This section has inappropriate, unsourced editorial conclusions. This entire sentence should be removed:

″However, based on his tumultuous history, which includes many incendiary and hateful remarks towards Serbs and other ethnic groups, coupled with his seeming support for Ustaše movements, this retort was widely believed to be nothing more than politically correct posturing.″

The many allegations packed into that sentence are not sourced to anyone, but rather appear to be inappropriate unsourced editorial conclusions. The only citation for that sentence is a 23 December 2007 Perković interview in The New Generation (currently footnote 16). That interview offers no support for the sentence in question. The claim of a "wide belief" that Perković statement was "politically correct posturing" appears to be a fiction someone invented for Wikipedia, completely unsupported by the cited source. Who conducted the research to ascertain this "wide belief"? Where was this "wide belief" reported?

Moreover, in the interview, Perković explicitly and thoroughly rejects the editorial conclusions of this sentence. The interview is therefore being inappropriately cited for an editorial conclusion that is directly opposite to the content of the interview.

The title of this section is "Perković's response to accusations". This section should therefore accurately report his real responses with properly sourced citations. Instead, it introduces unsourced editorial conclusions about his responses.

This stub has been unsourced for 15 years, and the Croatian article is not sourced either. Please find and add reliable sources. Bearian (talk) 02:05, 14 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
