Surfaris Jim Fuller is known as the Godfather of Surf Music / Surfguitar I have heard him with the Surfaris and Jim Fuller and The Beatnik. He is a fabulous musician and is guitar playing is a true pleasure to the ear!

What's the source for this claim? I'd be happy to put it into the article if it has a legitimate source.THX1136 (talk) 20:52, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

I can be a source for anything related to The Surfaris. My dad was the late Jim Fuller, who, with Pat Connally, founded The Surfaris and was a playing member from 61’ - 66’ then again in 81’- 17’ when he passed and I put band on temp hiatus. I helped my dad with managing the band after returning from the Navy in 93’. Not to be confused with Bob Berryhill’s band he started at the end of 2000 with his family and re-used the band’s name. Only this band released over 200 records & International edits and toured worldwide with other band’s like Beach Boys, Chantays, & The Ventures. Unfortunately Berryhill’s memory of how everything started with the band and recording is quite a bit different than Pat Connally’s Jim Pash’s or my dad’s. I agree, if you are Jims son, then I remember you. I managed the Fuller/Pash version of the band between 86-88. This wiki page ignored much of the history from this lineup of the band, including when I got us the gig with Columbia Pictures for the New Gidget Show in `87 and recorded the song 'Bred to Shred' for the show. I think the writers of the song included Glen Ballard Glen Ballard and another guy I worked with at MCA records some time ago. Jpr2000 (talk) 20:38, 11 November 2023 (UTC)

Re-entry

As I recall, Jim Pash told me Wipe Out made it to top 10 status three times. Would have to be verified though. I managed the band for a couple years and I noticed that there is no mention of the recording we did called Bred to Shred, which was for The New Gidget Show. I also had the band appear in the episode performing the song. We did two versions of the song, one (a punkier version) was played on I think 102.1 in San Diego when we did a show for them in Oceanside, CA; and the other ( a 60's sounding version was used in 'The New Gidget Show' (Jpr2000 (talk) 16:35, 3 May 2015 (UTC))

Band Members info

Since it appears, according to the article, that there is no group specifically called the Safaris should all the members be classified as past members? If Berryhill's group qualifies as the Safaris should his wife and son be included in current members with Jim Fuller being removed from that category?
