Translation?

Why on earth is this party's name partially translated into German in English Wikipedia??? See WP:ENG. Indeed, Swedish rike = German Reich, but as Sweden is a kingdom, the term often refers to national level organisations in general. Outside the construction tredje riket it would never refer to World War II or Adolf Hitler. Thus Riksskatteverket is the Swedish Tax Agency, rather than the "Reich Tax Agency" or anything such, Riksrevisionen is the Swedish National Audit Office, Riksidrottsförbundet is the Swedish Sports Confederation, and so on. Riksorganisationen or Riksförbundet is a common designation on the national secretariat of (fully democratic) Swedish parties. Thus, the word Rikspartiet does not at all have the connotations it's given in translation here. If the party's name is to be translated it would rather be as the Nordic National Party. There are claims in the discussion that "Reich" is a loan word in English. This is false. It only ONLY used in the term "Third Reich" and can't be called a loan word. It is used as a proper name, not a noun. The usage in this title is wrong, "Riksparti" only mean it is not a local party, but a party for all of the state. Why use a translated name as the page title? The organization did not have an official name in English, so there is no English name to use authoritatively. The page should be renamed Nordiska Rikspartiet, quite simply. Of course, an English explanation/translation should be provided in the article. I don't like the current translation, "The Nordic Realm Party", but I understand the thinking behind it. I agree with the preceding arguments, "Riksparti" simply means a political party with country-wide focus, and the most neutral translation of this is "National Party", that is "Nordic National Party" in this instance. This also gives associations to "national socialism" (ref NSDAP) which was the basic principle for the party (NRP party presentation (in Swedish)) Kjetilho (talk) 13:22, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

  Reich is an English [loan-]word, and has been since before the Second World War; whether it is the proper or usual translation of Rik here - it would not be in other contexts - is another question. The OED 's first quotation is from 1921. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 16:46, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
