The Iron Sheik on Twitter: "RESPECT THE LEGEND FOREVER 😢 https://t.co/Cr6CC9pXSO" / Twitter Frecsh (talk) 15:16, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

His real-life relationship with Hulk Hogan is one that needs to be examined better

There are videos of them together.2601:447:4100:1BE0:79B0:831C:E446:9DA0 (talk) 17:28, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

His year of birth is 1942, not 1943.

Multiple sources wished him a happy 80th birthday on his birthday in 2022, which would put his year of birth at 1942, not 1943. And no reliable source has been provided confirming a birth year of 1943.

Just now, I found another resource saying that he was in 1939. That is uncertain. Sheik's good friend Keith Elliot Greenberg said this "In 1983, when I saw the Texas database with listed birthdays for pro-wrestlers who were licensed in the state, his birthday at the time was listed in their records as March 15, 1939." Possible being born in 1939

I remember back in 2006 seeing on some site that Sheik was born in 1939. That might have been a confusion of Adnan Al-Kaissie who was born that same month in Iraq. Keith Elliot Greenberg said this "In 1983, when I saw the Texas database with listed birthdays for pro-wrestlers who were licensed in the state, his birthday at the time was listed in their records as March 15, 1939." Using rematch as a verb sounds awful

"The Iron Sheik rematched Backlund indecisively"

"The Iron Sheik was scheduled to rematch Backlund"

In fact, the whole article sounds like it was written by someone who has never watched a sport before. 73.1.32.64 (talk) 17:09, 1 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
