Ashes scattered: Norfolk or Suffolk

Hi. The article claimed at one point that his ashes were scattered on a football pitch near where he was born in Norfolk. Also categorised as Born in Norfolk.

I can assure you that he was born in Mutford, Suffolk, as per his autobiography referenced in the article. I have amended the relevant category. I also assumed that the ashes-scattering reference was therefore mistaken, and happened on a Suffolk football pitch. However, having attempted and failed to find a reliable source for this information, I am forced to remove it as per the guideline. Bizarrely the article had two different birth and death locations! I;ve cleared it up and added a bunch of biographical stuff which comes from good sources. I have no idea if he was cremated even let alone where his ashes may be. I doubt somehow that that's the most important thing about him! --Blue Square Thing (talk) 19:40, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Do staff count as alumni?

Should Stanley Rous be included amongst the Category:Alumni of Watford Grammar School for Boys? Alastair Cutting 00:16, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

No - see this meaning for alumnus/alumni. Sir Stanley was a staff member, not a graduate or ex-pupil/student. It was in other words a job. Thanks. Ref ^(chew)(do) 16:07, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

The usual definition I understand, but Alumnus also has this quote, which made me think it is becoming a legitimate use:

"Recently, the definition of "alumni" has expanded to include people who have departed from any kind of organization or program. As such, one can potentially be a "corporate alum" of XYZ Company, or an alum of a military branch, non-profit organization, fraternities and sororities, or training process." Nevertheless, the clear meaning I take from those references to Watford contained in his autobiography are that the post he held there was primarily a job to him. I think it contextually wrong therefore to include him as alumni. That is only my opinion. Consensus would obviously win out if it were added to the article.
