Hinting at dishonest advertising?
The Marketing section contains the line “In 2010, the company began an advertising campaign drawing attention to their bootlegging past, featuring John Sleeman, despite the fact that he no longer owns the company.” I’m not sure where the editor was going with that. Sapporo bought the company out, but they still kept John W. Sleeman on board as chairman. — TheHerbalGerbil(TALK|STALK), 22:14, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Operations section contains "Sleeman owns a 2% stake in Brewers Retail Inc., the operator of The Beer Store retail chain, which due to a legally-protected near-monopoly has an over 90% market share of Ontario beer sales. The takeover by Sapporo means that no portion of Brewers Retail is held by any majority Canadian-owned entity, and may increase pressure on the government to force an end to the Brewers Retail near-monopoly."

Completed major update Jan. 25, 2017
This article was badly outdated, contained some incorrect info, and was lacking many citations. I have done an update to resolve those issues. Peter K Burian (talk) 15:28, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
Sleeman original in a bottle
