Proposed split of article
As more battles and other events of the Second Boer War have been added in recent weeks, I think this article ought to be split into: The Battle of Ladysmith (October 5th, 1899), and the Storming attempt on March 5th, 1900. I won't start anything for a couple of weeks. HLGallon (talk) 22:03, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Diversity in History
1100 Indian people formed part of the Ambulance corps - one of them been my ancestor, with his own story of saving a life, and receiving a sword as gratitude(which is held by the family today).
Though there is no evidence, as evidence needs to be written.
Also, supply chain management and other work that assisted the soldiers where done by indigenous local people.
Their names, and thus heritage had also need for development - as it serves as heritage, motivation, and monetary and other parallels in indenty preservation.
An oral history project has started - while the elders are alive. Kajan Lakhan (talk) 08:08, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, Kajan, this would be great input but, as you've said, it would have to be verified by secondary sources. One major fault of articles like this is their failure to recognise all of the groups involved. That is typical of written British history, unfortunately.
